Guardian Service

Guardian Service is cookware that Jo Harrison had. It has been passed down in the family. Mother has some pieces and so do I. Many of the pieces still have the origninal glass lids although they are chipped. There is a picture of the coffee pot which I still have on the chapter page for appetizers.

Texas Cooking online

A great resource not only for recipes. There are also articles, a bookstore, and lots of other information.

Recipe Source

A favorite site for looking up all kinds of recipes

BBQ links

Lots of links to BBQ information, techniques, and recipes amongst other things.

Food Network

One of my favorite TV channels. Lots of good recipes and information from various shows. Bryan and I especially like Alton Brown on Good Eats. He provides a lot of the hows and whys of things rather than straight technique for recipes.

International vegitarian Union

Good resource for a wide variety of vegitarian recipes

Books and other resources

I'm Just Here for the Food

Alton Brown

If you want to know more about the food you are cooking and eating, this book is great. Find out why certain ingredients are added to a recipe at certain times, what chemical reactions occur when certain ingredients are combined and how that affects the end result. Fascinating. A lot of things I learned to do, I just assumed that was the way Mom did so that was how it supposed to be. Now I know why.

Laurel's Kitchen Caring: Recipes for Everyday Home Caregiving

Laurel Robertson & Brian Ruppenthal, R.D.

This is a great book and the only one I have seen with such great information and recources on caregiving and the care taker. It has great recipes also. It has been a big help with Dad. I highly recommend it for anyone dealing with elderly parents, or anyone who is sick regardless of age. I found it by accident in a gift shop while washing my car. It was just what I needed when the information was most helpful. The author, Laurel Robertson also wrote Laurel's Kitchen and several other food related books.

Home Comforts - The Art & Science of Keeping House.

Cheryl Mendelson, Ph.D., J.D.

Published in 1999, Home Comforts is the modern version of the book I found with the Harrison recipe collections. It is full of information, resources, ideas, and suggestions. A complete how to book for managing today's home.

Feed Me! I'm Yours : Revised and Expanded Edition

Vicki Lansky

I gave the original version to Janet when Brittany was born. Great recipes for homemade baby food, birthday celebrations, seasonal treats, kitchen crafts, etc. I also gave this book to several of my friends.

Taming of the C.A.N.D.Y. Monster: Continuously Advertised Nutritionally Deficient Yummies: A Cookbook

Vicki Lansky

This is another book I gave to Janet. Full of great recipes for kids.
