Records all boxed text comments from the Describe version. This includes contributor comments and historical antidotes. This table includes the catergory/section from which the comment was taken, the comment itself, a title/name to identify the comment, and the complete text of the comment. This document is used to cut and paste comments into the appropriate HTML page.
A listing of all elements of the recipe book other than the recipes themselves. This includes, photos, text images, pictoral images, and comments. It includes all information needed to identify the various elements and where they can be found in the print and web versions of the recipe book. There are 350 elements listed in this spreadsheet.
Cut recipe text from Describe document, paste into html recipe template.
Format recipe as needed - put ingredients in table, add title, correct font style elements as needed
Add any text comments, images, and other elements in table format with appropriate border.
Create bookmarks as need so that links on index page will go straight to the particular recipe.
Do spell check.
Set properties
check table borders - recipe, comments, images etc.
check basic recipe format - title styles etc
check properties
check "return to" on bottom of page
make sure all images are linked properly
make sure all recipes are linked properly to appropiate index page
make sure all images (comments, photos, recipes etc) that are in the print version of the chapter are included in the html version of that same chapter.
make sure all tables are relative so the fit on the page
Convert all bitmap images to jpg. Rename as needed for consistency and clarity.
For images that include two parts, create a new image with both parts in a single .jpg. Also for images with signatures or other information that was a separate text box in the describe document, make a new image to include all elements in a single jpg
Change size of all images to make them easier to access on the website.
Note any changed names in spreadsheet.
Be sure all recipes, including those that are images, are listed on the correct section index page.
Check that all recipes are linked properly on the section index page
Make sure the note about the images is included at the top of the page
Include the pictures at the top of the table for each chapter and at the bottom as consitent with the print version. Be sure the description text is also included.
List the PDF version of each chapter at the top of the appropriate column on the appropriate section index page
Make sure all tables are relative so the fit on the page
check properties
Check "return to" on bottom of page
Open document on windows machine.
Set printer to Adobe acrobat distiller. Set properties - graphics to 600 dpi, PostScripts optimized for portability, Adobe PDF settings to a3.
Change primary font to Futurist Typo/2 Make sure title and secondary font is set to BahiaScriptSSK Check all fonts are correct and visible.
Re-import the correct special characters on chapter page, with historical comments, and as indicated in other parts of the chapter.
Check each page to ensure everything is where it belongs
Print document to appropriate file and with correct name.
On OS2 machine open PDF file and verify that everything is correct. Copy to web folder, link to appropriate index page.

The recipe book is a total of 235 pages not including the indexes at the back.
Note: The grade level and fog index indicate a fair level of reading and comprehension ability is needed to read this book. The standard for newspapers is a grade level of 5. The high numbers in these indexes may be have a lot to do with the fact that is is a recipe book rather than a straight text document.
