I have had turtles most of my life. In 1995 I adopted two desert tortoises. Almost 25 years (2023) later they are still cruising around happily in their pen in my back yard. Since about 2005 I have taken them on our travels during the summer months. They have been to many Airstream rallies as well as other camping trips.
When I adopted Grinch and Penelope you could have a male and female. Apparently back yard breeding of tortoises has become a rather serious problem so several years ago adopting a male and female was no longer allowed.
